At StaffTests, Inc., we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about how we collect, use, and share data related to our test platform. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how it is used, and under what circumstances it may be shared.
1. Data Collected from Tests
We collect data from individuals who take tests created and administered through our platform. However, test answers and results are only temporarily collected and are transmitted directly to the company that created and deployed the test (“Hiring Company”). StaffTests, Inc. does not store, analyze, or retain test results after they are delivered.
Test data is exclusively owned and used by the Hiring Company that entered into an agreement with us. We do not share test responses or test-related personal data with any third parties outside the Hiring Company.
2. Usage Telemetry
We may collect non-personally identifiable usage telemetry to improve our platform and provide insights to the Hiring Companies. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Time taken to complete a test
- Bounce rate (e.g., how many users start but do not finish a test)
- Aggregate performance metrics (excluding individual answers)
This data may be shared with the Hiring Company that commissioned the test.
3. IP Address Logging
We may log the IP addresses of test takers if requested by the Hiring Company. This data is only used for security, fraud prevention, or auditing purposes and is made available exclusively to the Hiring Company upon request.
4. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies for the following purposes:
- Session Management: To track user progress during a test and enable users to resume where they left off.
- Advertising (Free Tier Only): If a Hiring Company uses our free tier, we are authorized to monetize the test experience by displaying advertisements. In this case, cookies may also be used for ad personalization and tracking.
Note: The free tier is most commonly used by small companies or organizations that receive a high volume of applicants from multiple sources and are looking for an economical way to screen candidates. This tier helps them manage scale while keeping costs low.
Users taking a test under a paid plan will not be subject to advertising cookies or ad tracking.
5. Data Retention
We only retain test-related data temporarily for the purpose of transferring it to the Hiring Company. Once transmitted, this data is removed from our systems. We do not retain, analyze, or repurpose test responses or results in any way.
Telemetry data, cookie identifiers, and IP logs (if applicable) may be retained for operational and reporting purposes in accordance with this policy.
6. Your Privacy Choices
Depending on the configuration chosen by the Hiring Company, users may:
- Be subject to advertising cookies (free tier only)
- Have their IP addresses logged (if requested)
- Have access to cookie settings or opt-out choices as required by applicable laws
If you have questions about how your data is used, we recommend reaching out directly to the Hiring Company administering your test.
7. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify Hiring Companies of any significant changes, and continued use of our platform implies acceptance of the updated terms.
